New Cooperation Initiative to Promote Energy Sustainability in Armenia’s Communities

03.09.2026

The Union of Communities of Armenia NGO and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund of Armenia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at promoting the development and implementation of energy efficiency, energy conservation, and renewable energy initiatives across Armenia’s communities.

The cooperation is based on a shared commitment to supporting communities in adopting modern energy solutions, strengthening their professional and institutional capacities, and promoting the implementation of programs aimed at sustainable energy development.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties plan to work together to raise awareness among community leaders, employees, and sector professionals about the opportunities available in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy conservation.

Particular attention will be given to providing communities with information on potential programs, funding opportunities, investment instruments, and support mechanisms. This will enable communities to more effectively assess their energy needs, identify development opportunities, and participate in the design and implementation of relevant initiatives.

Another important area of cooperation will be the organization of joint meetings, discussions, consultations, and informational events. These activities will create platforms for the exchange of knowledge and experience, allowing communities, sector professionals, and other stakeholders to discuss existing challenges, explore solutions, and develop new initiatives.

The parties also plan to cooperate in assessing the needs of communities and identifying their potential for energy development. This work can serve as a basis for designing energy efficiency and renewable energy programs tailored to the specific characteristics and needs of individual communities.

The Memorandum also provides for the joint development of proposals, programs, and initiatives aimed at improving energy efficiency in communities, promoting energy conservation, and expanding the use of renewable energy sources.

The cooperation between the Union of Communities of Armenia NGO and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund of Armenia is intended to establish a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership, providing communities with access to new knowledge, expertise, information, and opportunities for energy development.

Through this cooperation, the parties aim to contribute to the development of more sustainable, efficient, and modern energy systems across Armenia’s communities, while promoting a culture of energy conservation and encouraging the adoption of renewable energy solutions at the community level.
