Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan hosted Armen Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the Communities Association of Armenia, and representatives of SALAR International at Yerevan Municipality.

Karine Kostanyan, Acting Head of the General Education Department of the Yerevan Municipality Staff, also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the fiscal decentralization process in Armenia, strengthening the financial capacities of communities, as well as the development of community-level education.

Particular attention was given to ongoing and planned initiatives in the field of education, opportunities for their further development, and the effective implementation of educational programs at the community level. The parties exchanged views on opportunities for cooperation and experience sharing in this area.

The discussion also addressed ongoing efforts toward fiscal decentralization, capacity building for local self-government bodies, and the importance of continuously improving professional knowledge and skills.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between Yerevan Municipality, the Communities Association of Armenia, and SALAR International, as well as the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at supporting the development of the local self-government system.
