Steering Committee Meeting of our CoE/EU PCF Programme “Strengthening Institutional Frameworks for Local Governance”

The next Steering committee meeting of CoE/EU PCF programme “Strengthening institutional frameworks for local governance” will take place in Strasbourg, France on 26 January 2017.

The third Steering Committee (the SC) meeting of the Programme “Strengthening institutional frameworks for local governance” in the Eastern Partnership countries (the Programme) under the Programmatic Cooperation Framework took place on 26 January 2017 in Strasbourg. The SC meeting was attended by the appointed members of the SC - representatives of the central authorities/line ministries responsible for local government reform in the participating countries, by representatives of local governments – heads of delegations or members of the delegations to the Congress, national associations of local governments, as well as by the Council of Europe’ secretariat and Programme staff. Also the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to the CoE attended the meeting.

The SC approved the Annual report on the results achieved in 2016 and endorsed the Yearly Plan of Operations for 2017 with modifications proposed by the participants at the meeting.

In accordance with its Statute, the Steering Committee is set up to provide strategic guidance aiming to ensure the successful implementation and transparency of the Programme, as well as create synergy between the actors involved in implementation of the Programme under the Programmatic Cooperation Framework (PCF) for 2015-2017 funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Council of Europe.
