On September 24 “EU for Armenia’s Sustainable Energy Project” (EU4ASEP) Steering Committee meeting was held. The meeting was attended by the representatives of EU Delegation to Armenia, EU4ASEP program, Union of Communities of Armenia, members of the staffs of the RA communities and experts of the program.

The “EU for Armenia’s Sustainable Energy Project” (EU4ASEP) has promoted renewable energy investments in the Aparan town and is currently in process of implementation in the Artik town of Armenia.

The EU4ASEP Project is implemented by the “Energy Saving Foundation” (ESF) and the “Union of Communities of Armenia” (UCA), as well as the partner municipalities. Aparan and Artik communities are the Signatories of the “Covenant of Mayors” of the European Union.

Andrea Bajioli, International cooperation officer of the EU Delegation to Armenia welcomed the participants.

EU4ASEP project manager, executive director of ESF Astghine Pasoyan during the meeting represented the project status and implementation. Also the issues such as overall implementation efficiency and achievement of the expected results and next steps were discussed.

The representative of the Union of communities of Armenia represented a report on the methodology and results of the social research conducted in Aparan within the framework of the project. It was informed that such a social survey is planned to be conducted in Artik in October. The aim of the research is to find out how much the communities are aware of what energy saving is, energy efficiency, what capacities the communities have in this field.
