On January 20, the launching ceremony of the "Alliance for Better City Governance" project was held in the Vanadzor Technology Center, which was attended by members of RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, the EU Delegation in RA, the RA Urban Development Committee, the RA Lori and Shirak Regional Government, Vanadzor and Gyumri Communities Council members, as well as representatives of other RA communities, NGOs, educational institutions, business sector and local, international experts of the project.

There were made speeches of welcome by the Deputy Governor of Lori, Gor Asryan (Member of the Project Steering Committee), Ambassador of Poland in Armenia: Pawel Czeplak, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Department of the EU Delegation in Armenia: Silya Kasman, Ashot Giloyan, Head of Local Government Policy Department of RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures (Project SC Member), Albert Margaryan, Chief Advisor to the Head of Gyumri Municipality, Lilia Davtyan, Head of Development Programs, External Relations and IT Department of the Vanadzor Municipality (Project SC Member) and Natalya Lapauri, Head of the "Alliance for Better City Governance" Project.

The representatives of the EU delegation in Armenia, Bruno Montariol and Silja Kasmann, emphasized the program implemented by the communities, emphasizing the special importance of its components.

In the second part of the event, the experts of the Project presented the works already done and the upcoming activities.
