On July 22 a webinar on the topic of ''Current legal Issues of local self-government in Armenia'' was held.

Union of Communities of Armenia with financial support of Visegrad Fund implements ''Colloboration towards sustainable development of cities - Common Challenges, Common Solutions'' project. The webinar was organized in the framework of the project.

The project's partners are the Association of Polish Cities, Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia, Hungarian National Association of Local Authorities (TÖOSZ), Rádlo municipality.

The objective of the project is to assist the communities in developing staff capacities.

Lawyer, expert Vahagn Petrosyan informed the participans what constitutional changes have been done, represented the powers of local self-government bodies, procedure for local government bodies elections. He informed the participants about the changes in the RA Electoral Code, how the community leaders will be elected after the legislative changes, what changes have been made in connection with the members of the community Council of Elders, to which communities the proportional election will reffered to.

Also answered the questions of the participants.

In the framework of the project from July 15 to August 15 the webinars are held for community leaders, council of elders members, community servants and for other stakeholders.

The participants of the webinars selected by project by their high activity and initiativeness will have the opportunity to participate in study visit to Poland.
