Previously, it had been named Ayntap New, Beibutad, Tazagyugh, Tazakend, Noraghegh. Ayntap was renamed in honor of Ayntap town of Cilicia in 1970. The village has been mentioned under Noragyugh name in 1465-1466. As a result of the devastating earthquake in 1679, the village was totally destroyed and collapsed. In the years that followed, it was rebuilt by immigrants from the Aleppo province.
