Artavan
The village was founded in the 10-18th centuries. Previously, there were five dwellings. Some of these dwellings have come to us from the book of Gabriel Ter-Hovhannisyan (Qajaran) [1870].
Until 1949, the village was called Jul, which corresponds to the current area of the village.
The population immigrated from the Aleppo and Khoy provinces during the Russian-Persian war, then moved from there to the settlement of Julfa. The village was resettled in 1949.  and named Artavan:

Bardzruni

The village was founded in the 19th century and it was repopulated in 1928 with Armenians from the Alemian and Salmastian provinces of Armenia.

Gomk

One of the oldest dvellings of Vayots Dzor. It is mentioned in Stepanos Orbelyan's book. The great historian found out that the village of Gomk had given six times to Tatev monastery, which means that the tomb was not too big.
The village is mentioned as:and it is groundless that it is an old Gomer village.

Khndzorut

The village was founded in 1827. According to the Russian-Persian Gulistan Treaty, as a result of the immigration of the Armenian population from Persia.
Despite unfavorable climatic conditions (lowland, dry semi-deserted land), the village gradually develops and provides population growth.
Until the Soviet order the village belonged to Sharur Daralagyaz province of Nakhichevan province.

Martiros
Martiros is one of the few villages in Vayots Dzor, as well as in the few villages throughout Armenia with the hystorically and documentally proved exact date of foundation and the founders' names. This important information is found in the large source of the village in about 1283. On the cross-stone crossing over three meters above the pink granite, with the following inscription:
"I was the son of the Pharmacist Mkhitar, by the decree of Prince Trøs, and his son Hassan, in 1283. I built the Martiros village and set up this khachkar in front of the sacred church (church), intercession, and my wife Mamijrii, and my son Gharib Shahin and my daughter Ruzakani, who you read, remember us. Constructed by  Shnorhavor "
The facts testify that Martiros was built by the order of the prince, not in a deserted place, but in a village reconstructed by his own inhabitants.
Martiros has left many historical and cultural values for over 700 years.
The most remarkable architectural monument of Martiros is the 13th century Surb Astvatsatsin monastery, located 2.5 km south-east of the village, at the bottom of the Nzar mountain. The monastery is completely built inside the Mount Nzar, in the underground mountain. According to the saved texts, the monastery was built by Martiros Vardapet in 1286, and the architect was Stonemaster Grigorik.
The Vimator Church is the most significant and largest cave architectural complex in Armenia after Geghard, and it is the first of its kind in the Armenian church building with its constructive high art.
