Intellectual game on clean and sustainable development for school students in Gegharkunik region

On 16 November 2024, in Gavar, within the framework of EUSEW2024, an intellectual game on "Green and Sustainable Development" was held, organized by the CoM East project in cooperation with the municipalities of Gavar, Sevan and Martuni in the Gegharkunik region of Armenia.

The event was attended by 10 teams (50 students) representing different schools and educationalinstitutions from the above-mentioned communities in the region.
During the game, participants were asked about 60 questions on various topics such as ecology, climate change, greenhouse gases, the environment, geography, renewable energy and energy efficiency, physics, chemistry, etc.
The aim of the event was not only to identify the strongest teams, but also to raise awareness among the participants about climate change, the fight against its consequences and the basic principles of sustainable development. In addition, the participants were able to gain experience in organizing and participating in intellectual games, which they will be able to apply to the initiation of similar events within the framework of the sustainable energy days.

On behalf of the CoM East project, the winners received gift cards for sports equipment and books , as well as certificates. Gifts were also given to all participants who did not win a prize.

The CoM East project team in Armenia would like to thank the mayors of Gavar, Sevan and Martuni and the staff of the local administrations for their help in organizing the event, as well as the school management and teachers for ensuring the active participation of the students.
