This note is about immediate responses to the COVID-19 recommended for local governments. It is advisory and generic and can be adapted to individual circumstances. It is focused on responses that can be implemented in days and weeks, rather than months and years.

In the note it is written that COVID-19 shows the importance of fast effective local action to slow the spread of the virus.

It is emphasised that Local Governments are at the forefront of the COVID-19 Response and they have unique role for fighting against the disease.
