On May 23-24 was held a webinar for the local youth in Gegharkunik marz (region) of Armenia. “Free Citizen” Civic Initiatives Support Center is continuing implementation of the project “Young Activist” Young Civic Activists Capacity Building in Social Campaigning.

This was the last webinar of the 17 workshops, which were organised in Armenia in the framework of the Project “V4 for Youth Engagement in the Local Self-Governance” by cooperation with Union of Communities of Armenia. The workshops were dedicated to strengthening young civic activists on engagement with local self-governance, as well as raising awareness among participants on the European Union, Council of Europe, Eastern Partnership, Visegrad 4 format.

28 young civic activists from Gegharkunik marz participated in the webinar. There was held an online meeting with deputy mayor of Paraqar Gor Saribekyan. He told the youngsters about his motivation to be involved in local self-government system, about his pre-electoral compaing about development projects of the community. He also answered the questions.

During the webinar, it was also discussed the issues, which had been identified by the participants as more relevant for the Youth of their region.

- Community unification problems;

- Low awareness and low involvment of the youth in community life and in local self-government system,

-Low development of community infrastructure.
