On October 9 ELDW Coordination Meeting With National Coordinators was held. The webinar entitled ‘’ELDW in the digital age’’ was held.

The webinar was moderated by the Head of the Co-operation and External Relations Division Dmitri Marchenkov.

At the beginning of the meeting welcoming remarkes were made by the Acting Secretary General of the Congress  Andreas Kiefer. The Congress Hub “Local and regional response to the COVID-19 pandemic” was represented during the webinar. It is a knowledge hub, which is regularly updated and where the best practices of member countries at the local and regional level on COVID-19 rapid response mechanisms are represented.

Then the presentations were made by the national coordinator representatives about good practices by participating municipalities and regions. Deputy Executive Director of the Union of Communities of Armenia Araks Mikayelyan represented the activities carried out by the Union of Communities of Armenia within the framework of Local Democracy Week 2020, especially at the context of COVID-19.

At the end of the webinar the participants exchanged views on a possible ELDW theme for 2021-2022.The proposed themes for discussion were SDG 11 – Sustainable and Resilient Communities, The environment and local democracy.
