On August 26 by the initiative of Union of Communities of Armenia the discussion on "Administrative changes (enlargement) in Armenia" was organized. The discussion was attended by dozens of representatives of Armenian communities.

The president of Union of Communities of Armenia Emin Yeritsyan represented the draft of unification of the communities envisaged by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

The participants of the discussion expressed concern that no discussion had taken place with community representatives before to the presentation of the draft.

Referring to the RA legislation, it was stated that the unification of the communities should take place due to the need of the public interest, while in many cases the public interest is not visible. Reference was also made to the communities' right to be heard, stating that the communities had not received official notifications regarding the project submitted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

It should be noted that many of the community representatives expressed their opinion during the Q&A stage that it is not expedient to carry out the process of community unification at the moment.
