The purpose of the meeting was to expand bilateral cooperation aimed at increasing the effectiveness of state oversight and improving community governance.
During the discussion, Garegin Khachatryan emphasized the importance of a program of measures aimed at addressing community issues and noted that a series of meetings is planned in the regions in the near future, with the participation of heads of enlarged communities and the professional staff of the Inspectorate.
According to Khachatryan, this initiative will give community leaders the opportunity to directly raise pressing issues in their communities, receive methodological support and professional consultation, and analyze the results of inspections carried out. He particularly stressed that the key objective of such meetings is to develop and consistently implement practical steps aimed at eliminating deficiencies.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed more than a dozen issues related to the Inspectorate’s areas of oversight. In particular, challenges in the fields of urban development, land use, and geodesy were addressed, along with possible solutions. Special emphasis was also placed on the targeted use of land and the prevention of illegal construction at both state and community levels.
Highlighting the importance of discussions in this format, Armen Harutyunyan expressed readiness to carry out systematic bilateral work. He noted that this cooperation has a preventive nature, where, alongside the enlargement of communities, the priority becomes the targeted assessment of the situation on the ground.
According to Harutyunyan, partnership with the Inspectorate creates a new platform that will allow transforming issues into constructive solutions, focusing not on penalties but on the systemic resolution of problems. He highly appreciated the transparent working style of the Inspectorate and its close cooperation with communities, which will contribute to ensuring citizens’ safety.
At the end of the meeting, a number of agreements were reached regarding the implementation of upcoming joint sectoral initiatives.
