Armen Harutyunyan, Director General of the Union of Communities of Armenia, met with Lena Falcon, Program Director at Salar International, Helena Adlercreutz, Head of the DeaLoG Program, as well as Varsenik Mnatsakanyan, Head of the DeaLoG Program in Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues related to the development of communities in Armenia and the enhancement of the effectiveness of the local self-government system. The participants emphasized the importance of strengthening community capacities and resources, particularly in the context of expanding international cooperation, exchanging experience, and introducing modern management tools.

Special attention was given to the development of human resources within communities and the organization of professional training programs. The parties discussed opportunities for implementing various thematic trainings, educational initiatives, and professional exchange visits both in Armenia and Sweden. It was noted that such initiatives could contribute to the introduction of new knowledge and international best practices in the field of community governance.

The meeting participants also highlighted the importance of strengthening international ties between communities, emphasizing that such cooperation creates opportunities not only for the exchange of experience but also for the establishment of long-term partnerships. Discussions also focused on potential areas for joint programs aimed at institutional community development, improving the efficiency of local-level services, and enhancing community governance systems.
