The Congress resumes the work of the committees.

Below is the schedule of the committee meetings, political group meetings and the sessions.

2.       Current Affairs Committee                16 September   9:30- 12:00 – 14:00-16:30

3.       Monitoring Committee                      17 September 09:30- 12:00 and 14:00-16:30

4.       Bureau meeting                               28 September       

5.       Political groups meetings                  19 or 20 October, 09։30-12։00  (EPP/CCE), 14։00-16։30 (SOC/G/PD)

6        39th session of the Congress             26 October 14։00-16։30,

The Governance, Current Affairs and Monitoring Committees will hold their meetings respectively on 15, 16 and 17 September 2020 online (videoconference). On the agenda are several debates on the challenges of major crises for European local and regional authorities. This includes examining their consequences for the protection of the European Charter of Local Self-Government, local and regional elections, multi-level governance and the protection of minorities.

The Governance Committee will examine reports for approval on the development of urban-rural interplay and on the status of capital cities, as well as draft reports on home sharing platforms and territorial solidarity.

The Current Affairs Committee will hold a debate on the current situation of LGBT+ persons in Europe. They will examine reports for approval on youth work and on cultural heritage management for local and regional development.

The Monitoring Committee will examine reports for adoption on the situation of local and regional democracy in Austria and Ukraine. The situation of the administrative and territorial reform in Latvia will also be discussed. In addition, the 2nd volume of the Human Rights Handbook on Social Rights at Local and Regional Levels will be presented with a view to its adoption.
