On July 15, the regular meeting of the Board of the Union of Communities of Armenia was held at the “Parigi” Hall of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Yerevan. Board members from all regions of Armenia participated in the session.

On July 15, the regular meeting of the Board of the Union of Communities of Armenia was held at the “Parigi” Hall of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Yerevan. Board members from all regions of Armenia participated in the session.

The agenda included a range of key institutional and organizational matters, such as:
▪️ Election of the Board President
▪️ Setting the Union's priorities and strategic directions for the second half of 2025
▪️ Scheduling and preparation for the upcoming General Assembly
▪️ Discussion of the Union's staff structure and annual budget
▪️ Positioning on proposed legislative amendments
▪️ Review of ongoing international cooperation initiatives

The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, was elected as President of the Board. In his opening remarks, he expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and emphasized the importance of financial sustainability, partnership-based governance, and the advancement of local democracy.

"Local self-government is one of the cornerstones of democracy. Communities must be fully empowered to shape their own future. The Union should serve as a platform to amplify their voice and foster effective collaboration between national and local authorities," said Tigran Avinyan.

The meeting was opened with a welcoming address by David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia.

During the session, the Board’s work calendar for the remainder of 2025 was approved.

The meeting concluded with a discussion on the list of strategic and regulatory documents to be developed and adopted by the end of the year.
