On April 23 "Citizens voice and actions in Consolidated Communities in Armenia" project's Steering Committe online meeting was held.

The Citizens Voice and Actions on Local Development in Consolidated Communities in Armenia is a 30-month EU funded project aiming to support the on-going government reforms and enhance capacity of consolidated communities in designing and implementing people-centered and sustainable local development projects. The project is implemented by a consortium of organizations: Communities Finance Officers Organization (CFOA), Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA), Union of Communities of Armenia (UCA) with CFOA as a lead organization.

During the Steering Committee meeting the projects were discussed which had been submitted during the call for the projects under "Citizens voice and actions in Consolidated Communities in Armenia" project.

During the meeting 10 shortlisted projects were presented, decisions and final approvals of the projects were made.

The participants also discussed the current stage of the project implementation and necessary changes given the current situation.

Note that the sub-grants which will be implemented under the EU-funded project "Citizens voice and actions in Consolidated Communities in Armenia" are designed to foster tourism and outdoor activity development in consolidated communities with the joint community resources.

The Territorial Approach to Local Development (TALD) will be applied, which is defined as a dynamic bottom-up and long-term process based on engaging many different actors and covering multiple sectors in a manner whereby local institutions and actors work together to define priorities, as well as to plan and implement strategies to increase income opportunities, well-being and resilience of the population and key resources in a given territory. For this propose the sub-grant projects will require strong cooperation between local partners including regional and local governments, NGOs, as well as where applicable, business entities.
