Conference of the Regional and Local Authorities for the Eastern Partnership (CORLEAP) held its 11th Annual meeting in Liberec, Czech Republic, on 3 November 2022.
This is not an ordinary CORLEAP Annual meeting, being the first one held fully in person after the COVID-19 pandemic.
CORLEAP 11th Annual meeting was also attended by Emin Yeritsyan, the President of Union of Communities of Armenia, CORLEAP bureau member.
During the opening ceremony the Deputy mayor of Radlo municipality Pavel Branda welcomed the guests to Liberec and stated: “The region has many best practices to share - it welcomes refugees from Ukraine and is also a good example of cooperation among micro-regions and disaster risk management, especially flood prevention measures”.
During the 11th annual meeting of the CORLEAP the discussions on the role and place of local democracy and decentralization in the modernization and consolidation of democratic processes in EaP counrties were also held.
Study visit was also held focusing on cooperation between the Czech municipalities, and crisis management and cross-border cooperation.
On November 4 Conference on perspective and transfers of transformation experience in relation to resilience of local governments was held.
