On April 21 on the occasion of 75th anniversary of UN was held an online-discussion conference called ''The Future We Want-2045: shaping our future together”.

During the conference initiated by UN, at the request of UN the World Organization of United Cities and Local Government will prepare a report on the future challenges of local and regional leaders and the vision of the future. The report will include the vision of the representatives of different regions and local and regional bodies of the world.

The report will be prepared on the results of the online-discussion-conference. The conference was attended by the representatives of the local and regional assosiations. They will have their contribution in the formation of the report.

The main message of the report, which the United Nations World Organization of Local Cities and Local Authorities wants to make available, is based on the following key ideas:

1. The main trends and problems in 2020
2. The world which we see in 2045
3. Structural progress that we want to see

During the online-conference  the issues such as what kind of impact modern trends make on the work of local and regional bodies, which is the role of the local and regional bodies in the implementation proccess of international agreements. An entire block of the issues related to the role and place of local authorities was discussed. A very important issue of discussion was
how do we imagine the place of local authorities in the updated system of UN.

The online-conference was attended by Emin Yeritsyan: the member of World Council of UCLG, the president of  the Union of Communities of Armenia. He made a lot of suggestions.

The discussions will be continued in Armenia, in international platforms also by Union of Communities of Armenia.
